The Mobile Health Competition launched back in November 2011- challenging the pharma industry and beyond to come up with mobile solutions to help teenage cancer patients. The objectives were several- to encourage pharma to think in more depth about patient services, to help the young cancer group who are often overlooked when it comes to both R&D and emotional support and to bring new technologies to the forefront of the pharma conversation. The competition received a great deal of interest across the industry and some fantastic entries(http://www.eyeforpharma.com/mobilehealth/all-entries.php)were created.
We are now very pleased to announce that after 2 months, 50 entries and c.4,000 votes, the winning mobile solution has now been announced on the competition website. Find out which one won the Gold Award here. (www.mobilehealthcomp.com)
Described by our judges as ‘all encompassing! It ties social media with gaming while still providing a solution to improving cancer patient compliance. This mobile solution will be an absolute success.’ the winning idea will now go into development.
It will make a big difference to the isolation felt by teenage cancer patients, and we hope the information brought to the fore by this competition will encourage pharma to consider patient solutions of this nature going forward.
