Main responsibilities


As a Clinical Research Nurse 2, you will participate in the creation and maintenance of a high quality clinical research environment, to initiate and manage nursing activities related to clinical trials, from initiation to termination, according to ICH/GCP guidelines and to ensure the commercial success of the Centre by recruiting and maintaining optimum patient numbers.


Your key accountabilities will be:

  • Performing all visits, observations, safety reporting, and interventions with the participants in accordance with procedures and schedule of the study protocol, company SOP’s and policies
  • Completing all relevant clinical competency training assessments, and attend all relevant research study protocol training, and complete all mandatory training, according to the Synexus COP’s/SOP’s
  • Promoting studies; carrying out pre-screening efficiently and effectively to optimise patient recruitment
  • Encouraging patients to continue within the study, and to participate in future trials
  • Supporting and promoting research centre strategies within the local community when required
  • Collecting, records, verifies and enters study data into the source notes, CRF/eCRF, and all associated paperwork, with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ensuring that all data queries are acted upon in a timely and efficient manner
  • Promoting and nurtures a welcoming, professional and pleasant environment for staff and participants
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings
  • Initiating emergency action when required e.g. cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis management, fire, or critical incidents
  • Identifying opportunities to increase patient numbers, keeping aware of recruitment deadlines

Ideal candidate


As a successful Clinical Research Nurse 2, you will likely have:


  • Registration with no limitations to practice within the Nursing and Midwifery Council(Adult)
  • The ability to manage multiple research studies with minimum supervision
  • Awareness of research governance issues
  • An understanding of the research process
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Clinical skills competency and laboratory processing competency
