My client is a Global Pharmaceutical company with a dynamic, innovative and entrepreneurial approach to drug development and product registrations, and they are now seeking an experienced Medical Director to take a leadership role on multiple products within various stages of development.

The Neurology franchise here, is already strong with a number of established and segment leading products on the market and now the early stage development pipeline is growing and expanding and looking very exciting with some strong data already in the public domain – the next few years for this company are going to very interesting…!!!

Over the last 5 years my client (who are a global organisation based in over 45 countries) has grown and developed by having a dynamic, innovative and entrepreneurial approach to drug development and product registrations, and has successfully expanded both its pipeline & marketed products globally. They are not departmentalized, or rigid in approach and the culture here has the spirit of a start-up but with the infrastructure and stability of big Pharma, whilst also offering the opportunity to take the lead in different global development initiatives all focused on Neurosciences.

As they expand they are looking for an MD with a specialization or love for Neurology to strengthen their Clinical Development Practice and be innovative in clinical drug development. You will ideally have a board certification in Neurosciences, or have a strong background in Neurosciences clinical development projects and have the strong soft skills around leadership, negotiation and project management to work together with internal and external stakeholders to find solutions for patients living with severe diseases. In essence your remit is to be “innovative in clinical drug development and your assessment of current and future treatment strategies.”

The Role

  • The focus will be on all aspects of clinical drug development including but not limited to medical input into indication selection and the assessment of current and future treatment strategies
  • Provide medical and scientific expertise into project and study teams to successfully develop and execute clinical development plans including clinical study protocols and reports, regulatory submission documents, and other clinical documents;
  • Providing training and ongoing input to all members of the Clinical Team and the Clinical Study Team on medical/scientific issues related to Neurosciences development
  • Serving as a key global medical/scientific spokesperson within the internal and external community including various regulatory and governmental agencies (for post-Proof Of Concept clinical programs).

Experience needed… It’s essential that you have a Medical qualification (MD); Board certification or other relevant higher medical and academic qualification in neurology; Experience in pharmaceutical industry in clinical development, including knowledge of GCP.
