RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/-- Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) is proud, together with its providers and community partners, to celebrate its 20th year of ensuring that the Inland Empire residents it serves have access to convenient, affordable, and quality healthcare.

Since beginning operations on September 1, 1996 as the region's first full service Medi-Cal managed care plan, IEHP's mission has been to organize and improve the delivery of quality, accessible and wellness-based healthcare services for its members and the community. IEHP focuses on individuals with Medi-Cal and those with both Medicare and Medi-Cal and works in close in partnership with its providers. In its first two decades, IEHP has grown from serving 62,000 members to more than 1.2 million members.

"We are proud of this anniversary milestone," said Dr. Brad Gilbert, IEHP chief executive officer. "While the healthcare landscape has changed through the years, our guiding principle, embedded into our Team Culture, has always been to do the right thing for our members, for providers and for team members."

IEHP has invested in groundbreaking initiatives to bring more providers to the Inland Empire. It also empowers members to actively manage their own health through innovative programs that emphasize care coordination, seamless services and healthier lifestyles. And together with many community-based organizations that share the same commitment to better health and health access, IEHP has encouraged greater utilization of preventive care services, promoting education and wellness, and much more.

"As we look forward to the years and decades to come, IEHP embraces its role as a leader in improving access to care throughout the Inland Empire," said Eileen Zorn, IEHP governing board chair. "We look forward to pioneering even more innovative partnerships, programs and services to meet the needs of those we serve."
