JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Next Science™, LLC is excited to announce the approval of Next Science Irrigation Solution by the FDA for the irrigation and debridement of wounds.

Next Science Irrigation Solution is an exciting addition to Next Science's expanding family of groundbreaking wound care products. With the recent launch of its flagship product, Next Science Wound Gel, the Jacksonville-based company has an eye on the greater horizon of healing. "We are continually searching for ways to improve the treatment of non-healing wounds and believe that the novel science and compatibility features of our Irrigation Solution will bring better outcomes to a wider range of people," says Next Science Chairman and CEO James Mozley.

Next Science products display a unique dual-action mechanism that attacks a major barrier to healing—biofilm—while exposing the bacteria within. "There are so many uses for this powerful technology," says President and Director of R&D, Dr. Matthew Myntti. "By attacking biofilm in wounds, we are eradicating a large obstacle to wound closure. Once we destroy biofilm, the natural immune response can resume its normal function, allowing patients to get on the path to healing, faster."

Next Science Irrigation Solution is compatible with jet lavage systems. The mechanical action of fluid moving across the wound provides the mechanism of action and aids in the removal of debris, including microorganisms, from wounds. The safety and efficacy of Next Science Irrigation Solution is supported by biocompatibility testing, functional performance testing, animal testing, and shelf-life testing.
