PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 15, 2016

PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Legacy Health, a leading healthcare system serving Portland-Vancouver and the Mid-Willamette Valley, and GoHealth Urgent Care, one of the nation's fastest growing urgent care companies, have joined forces with the world's leading ridesharing company, Uber. The collaboration, which launches today, brings an industry-first healthcare program to Uber driver-partners and their families in Portland and neighboring communities. Through the partnership, Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care will provide unmatched access and value to tailored healthcare services at 18 co-branded centers.

"Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care has built an impressive urgent care network in the Portland-Vancouver area, rapidly expanding within local neighborhoods in an incredibly short amount of time," said Bryce Bennett, Uber Portland's General Manager. "This partnership allows our driver-partners and their families to receive top-quality care with unparalleled access, convenience and value."

This initiative marks a material change in the way "gig economy" companies can arrange access to care for on-demand workforces. Uber chose to partner with Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care because of its expertise in clinical care, industry-leading consumer satisfaction scores and expanding retail footprint in communities where its driver-partners work and live. The services available to drivers and their families include $0 out-of-pocket flu shots, sports physicals and free wellness classes. The program also offers diabetes and heart health classes, as well as biometrics screenings and ergonomics therapy.

"Our partnership with Uber is another great example of how we are building a unique 'patient first' culture of care focused on the entirety of the communities we serve. We put patients first by allowing them to regain control of where, when and how they access healthcare," said Todd Latz, CEO of GoHealth Urgent Care. "Many of us have had the pleasure of being taken care of by Uber driver-partners in cities around the country, and this program is a meaningful way for us to return the favor. At Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care, we will now be waiting on them—extending our care to this great group of people—and quickly returning them to good health."

Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care's mobile-enabled web presence and real-time queuing system enables patients to easily check in online and do any "waiting" before they ever arrive at a center. Uber driver-partners and their families can also take advantage of a unified electronic medical record, avoiding unnecessary and duplicative testing and imaging, and receive direct connections to specialty physicians and other aftercare providers.

"We're excited about this partnership because it will make urgent care easier to access and empower drivers with Uber, as well as their family members, to live better, healthier lives," said Trent Green, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Legacy Health. "One aspect of our mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve. We remain dedicated to creating healthy communities within the region. This collaboration furthers that commitment."

Uber has also partnered with Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care in San Francisco and Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care in New York. For more information on the partnerships, visit
