WESTPORT, Conn., July 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Maplewood Senior Living announced today that it has named Brian Geyser,  APRN-BC, MSN, Vice President of Clinical Innovation and Population Health. He is responsible for building and leading an innovation governance structure that will fuel new care delivery models, clinical solutions, technology innovations and health strategy initiatives to improve resident experience and health outcomes.

"I'm thrilled Brian has joined the Maplewood team, bringing with him a deep understanding of the principles and behaviors that embody the Maplewood values, including respect for people and pushing the boundaries of what senior living should look like," said Gregory D. Smith, President and CEO of Maplewood Senior Living, based in Westport, Connecticut. "Creative health care delivery models and technology innovation are increasingly important in the senior living sector. Brian has diverse experience as a clinician, educator, and technology entrepreneur and business leader. He brings a highly relevant skill set and a fresh perspective to our industry at a time when our resident's needs are changing and our industry is evolving.

The addition of Geyser's role reflects Maplewood's promise to its customers, which includes always delivering the highest level of care and services; providing the very finest amenities, unique experiences and newest technologies to create warm and welcoming environments; and delivering a "local first" approach to the foods its chefs prepare, using farm-fresh ingredients from local farmers and purveyors to ensure residents have healthy and delicious options.

"Innovation and optimal health are vital elements of Maplewood's promise to residents and their families," said Geyser. "I am honored to take on this role, and look forward to leading key initiatives including the launch of a new senior care innovation and technology center planned for 2018."

Brian's responsibilities will include developing novel ways to deliver highly coordinated and integrated care to Maplewood residents by leveraging emerging technologies, population health management strategies, new care models, and strategic partnerships. He also will work with external stakeholders such as health systems, provider groups, ACOs, universities, vendors, and advocacy organizations to develop and nurture strategic partnerships, enhance collaboration, improve care coordination, optimize information exchange and explore research opportunities to achieve positive outcomes.
