Center for Behavioral Health Takes Leadership Role In Defining Community-Led Treatment of Behavioral Disorders in Louisiana 2018 Behavioral Health Symposium Raises Awareness and Resources for Local Communities

BOISE, Idaho and BATON ROUGE, La., Sept. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Center for Behavioral Health (CBH), a nationally accredited outpatient treatment facility, today announced that Shay Swartout, LPC, Louisiana State Director for CBH, will participate in the 2018 Behavioral Health Symposium.
Hosted by the Louisiana Department of Health, Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) on September 10-11, 2018, the symposium brings together professionals, consumers, family members, peers, advocates, community representatives, non-profit leaders, and public health officials to discuss the state of behavioral disorders.
Ms. Swartout will participate in the master session panel, "Justice Involved Individuals with Behavioral Health Disorders: Innovative Community Programs to Better Serve Individuals with BH Disorders who are Involved with the Criminal Justice System." As a representative of the clinical world, Ms. Swartout will discuss a range of topics related to enhancing collaborations with the justice systems and behavioral health network, to include law enforcement, courts, probation/parole, correctional facilities, and other identified stakeholders serving this population. as well as funding and recommendations of best practices when applying outreach programs in other communities. The panel will be moderated by Rhett Covington, Assistant Secretary, Re-Entry Programs LA Department of Public Safety & Corrections. Other members of the panel include:
