Takeda is a global biopharmaceutical company and the largest Life Sciences employer in Massachusetts. In the USA, Takeda markets metabolic, gout, gastrointestinal, and central nervous system treatments, with Massachusetts also serving as the U.S. hub for numerous global business operations. These include the U.S. Commercial Business Unit, Global R&D, Global Oncology, Global Vaccines, Biologics Manufacturing and Cell Therapy Manufacturing.
In June 2022, the company announced that they had signed a 15-year lease for approximately 600,000 square feet of R&D and office space to be built in Kendall Square, Cambridge.
