Translational science and research organisation, Fera Science Ltd, has hosted its Advances in Environmental Risk Assessments symposium, inviting members of the PPP industry to come together and discuss how to develop new solutions that will support an increase in agricultural outputs.
Plant protection products (PPPs) used in agriculture have doubled in numbers since the 1980s. Without them, the food safety of billions of people would be threatened. But the PPP chemical industry continues to face ongoing debate to ensure that these products raise the quality and yield crops with minimal impact on the surrounding environment. To help facilitate this debate, Translational science and research organisation, Fera Science Ltd, has hosted its Advances in Environmental Risk Assessments symposium…

The pharma industry is in the midst of a significant transformation, driven by technological advances, geopolitical uncertainty, the urbanisation of emerging economies and changes in consumer behaviour and expectations. In this modern sales era, it’s no longer sufficient for sales teams to simply learn about customer needs or issues, and then provide them with solutions through products or services. While those practices do remain at the core of sales, success now depends on organisations providing additional value during the sales process.
Richard Hilton, Managing Director EMEA at Miller Heiman Group, talks about how pharmaceutical businesses can maximise their workforces through targeted apprenticeship levy funding The pharma industry is in the midst of a significant transformation, driv…
June 27, 2019 - Recent advances in artificial intelligence and precision medicine led to the emergence of new businesses that trade and process human health data. Most pharmaceutical companies are acquiring large volumes of clinical and other data for research and marketing purposes. However, there are few examples of companies turning this data into new therapeutic products and it is difficult to estimate the potential benefits stemming from a specific data type or a combination. Unlike in finance, where there are established methods for pricing anything from money to complex derivative securities, there are no established models for estimating the value of human life data.

Despite being one of the most productive industries in the UK, pharmaceutical manufacturers are facing a number of key challenges, including responding to changing consumer demands. These consequences also impact the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that supply their machines. The sector requires that its OEMs manufacture systems with ever-shorter run times, greater flexibility, and increased efficiency in order for their customers to stay competitive.
Serving up finance: OEMs can help their customers in the pharmaceuticals sector embrace digitalisation with integrated finance Gary Thompson, Sales Director, Siemens Financial Services (UK) Despite being one of the most productive industries in the UK,[1] pharmaceutical manufacturers are facing a number of key challenges, including…
As reported recently, in the last six years, nearly 600 GP surgeries have closed, affecting almost two million patients. The closures have been blamed on underfunding, under-resourcing and an ongoing recruitment crisis. Here, Oliver Pittock, managing director of healthcare consumables supplier Valley Northern, comments.

The closures have been blamed on underfunding, under-resourcing and an ongoing recruitment crisis. Here, Oliver Pittock, managing director of healthcare consumables supplier Valley Northern, comments. The coming years will be crucial for the NHS. It’s been suggested that in the next five years, the NHS could be short of 7,000 GP’s if the budget for traini…
According to a recent report, care home residents account for around 250,000 emergency hospital admissions each year. However, it’s estimated that 40 per cent of these admissions could be avoided with a better understanding of a resident’s health needs and the medication they consume. But what can be done to reduce this figure? Here, Adrian Pittock, marketing director of healthcare consumables supplier, Valley Northern, explains more.

Bispecific antibodies (BsAbs) are a class of bifunctional antibody hybrid molecules. The Fab segments in bivalent antibodies have different specificities and can bind to different ligands. Anti-tumor and anti-immunologically active cells CDl6 or CD3 bispecific antibodies not only have the effect of activating NK cells or T cells, but also can specifically act on tumor cells through anti-tumor Fab segments to increase local NK cell or T cell concentration and enhance the ability of effector molecules to kill tumors.

From driverless cars being rolled out recently to robots performing surgeries, technology has surely made a stellar progress. One such example is medical robots. Medical robots are set to revolutionize the healthcare sector, especially surgeries, since they are becoming more and more acceptable, globally. They not only help in reducing the time of surgery but also ensure the accuracy of the whole process coupled with better quality of patient care, thereby increasing the demand for surgical robots across the globe.
The growth of the Medical Robots Market can be attributed to the issuance of IPOs by medical robot companies, advantages offered by robot-assisted training in rehabilitation therapy, growing hospital investments in medical robots, increasing funding for medical robot research, an…
Enzymes play an irreplaceable and significant role in the field of clinical diagnosis and treatment. The article actually an introduction of enzymes application in clinical diagnosis and treatment.
Enzymes, early referred to the meaning of “in yeast”, is actually a kind of biological catalysts produced by living cells in organisms, most of which are generally globular proteins. The enzymes can efficiently catalyze various biochemical reactions and promote the metabolism of organisms under conditions in the normal body. Life activities such as digestion, absorption, respiration, exercise and reproduction are all enzymatic reactions. Therefore, Enzymes are the basis for cells to survive. There are numerous enzymes in the human body, which are complex in structure and various in variety. As fa…
