Due to further expansion of our site in Athlone in 2017, we have openings for Assistant Scientist and Associate Scientist in our Inhalation team.

Assistant Scientist:
Suitable for a Chemistry Graduate, the role of Assistant Scientist is to acquire the skills and training of sample preparation and analysis procedures and to perform simple sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure pharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formulations. The assistant scientist is expected to follow analytical methods and SOP's with frequent direct supervision. This position will be working in our inhalation lab, testing a variety of inhalation devices.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of simple sample preparations
  • Analysis procedures to quantitatively measure pharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formations for stability testing and other studies for analytical testing support
  • Performing work assignments accurately, timely and in a safe manner
  • Training on routine operation, maintenance and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory procedures and guidelines.

Associate Scientist:

The role of Associate Scientist is to perform a variety of complex sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), intermediates, raw materials, in-process testing, and finished products for all dosage forms of small molecules for all phases of the drug development process. The Associate Scientist is expected to follow validated or experimental analytical procedures with occasional direct supervision from a group leader. Following sample analysis, the Associate Scientist is responsible for review and compilation of results.

  • Analysis procedures to quantitatively measure pharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formations for stability testing and other studies for analytical testing support
  • Performing work assignments accurately, timely and in a safe manner
  • Training on routine operation, maintenance and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications

Assistant Scientist:
  • Educated to a Bachelor's Degree level in Chemistry or related subjects
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and equipment
  • Knowledge of GMP
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others

Associate Scientist:

  • Education to a Bachelors or higher level in Chemistry
  • 1 year work experience within a GMP laboratory
  • 1 year industry experience with Lab techniques relevant to Inhalation: HPLC, UPLC, DPI.
  • The ability to plan, schedule and carry out work for successful project completion
  • A positive attitude and ability to work well with others
  • The ability to write protocols and reports with minimum supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction
