We are currently supporting a biotechnology business recruit for a Head of Medical Affairs to lead across the UK affiliate as the most senior medic, directly line manage an office and field based team, and develop a strategic medical plan for the niche portfolio.

We are currently supporting a biotechnology business recruit for a Head of Medical Affairs to lead across the UK affiliate as the most senior medic, directly line manage an office and field based team, and develop a strategic medical plan for the niche portfolio. Working closely with the General Manager you would sit on the UK Management Team and input into overall direction of the UK business. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to step up into a position of leadership or for those looking to take on a breadth of responsibility and the challenges of working in a smaller business.

Role responsibilities:-
- Design, implement, and develop the Medical Plan for the UK business
- As part of the UK Management team provide medical leadership across the business
- Directly line manage a team of 6 including cross-functional responsibility, office based, and field based staff
- Ensure the business is compliant with the ABPI Code of Practice
- Work closely with regional marketing colleagues to ensure international alignment
- Engage with and develop strong KOL relationships with experts across the therapeutic areas
- Provide medical support and expertise on clinical issues and product safety

Candidate requirements:-
- Medical degree required; Diploma of Pharmaceutical Medicine, Business Degree, or other post-graduate qualification of advantage
- Aligned therapy area expertise not essential
- Medical Affairs experience essential, other functional expertise beneficial
- ABPI Final Signatory
- Direct line management experience essential
- Familiarity with relevant national medical regulations
