Job Summary:

A newly created position for my Global Pharmaceutical client, who are looking to appoint a Global Director or Senior Director Health Economics to join their growing team. The right candidate will be an experienced Health Economist (from a pharmaceutical or consulting company), who is happy to work in a small but growing global team. You will be tasked with developing a global strategy and implementing that strategy across regional teams.


This role is accountable for the delivery of global activities for both in-line and development compounds in order to obtain and maintain optimal HTA approval and Reimbursement opportunities.

The successful incumbent will ensure that HEOR perspectives and strategies are aligned with Global Medical Affairs strategy. This position requires expertise in health economics and outcomes research as well as pharmaceutical research design and methods, and project and vendor management skills.

Key Activities:

  • Develop and lead HEOR projects that are innovative, medically relevant and scientifically valid collaborating utilising the expertise of global teams e.g  Real World Data
  • Lead effective collaborations with internal stakeholders by understanding business and medical needs, developing and implementing strategies that address the Global HEOR needs of the business
  • Be a key collaborator with external stakeholders & HEOR experts to ensuring  company sponsored HEOR initiatives are relevant to support the needs of patients, health care providers and payers.
  • Closely monitor the changing healthcare landscape to anticipate future needs
  • Support Global HEOR business objectives and budgetary plans with a 3-5 year perspective through evidence generation, synthesis, dissemination, communication and refinement
  • Identify, design, develop, and manage EMEA HEOR projects, protocol development, economic models, scientific publications and vendor supplied research proposals in assigned therapeutic area for both in-line and development product

Requirements for the role:

  • Degree qualified
  • Post-graduate degree in Health Economics and/or Outcomes Research
  • Proven track record of Health Economics Outcome Research within the pharmaceutical industry, or HEOR consultancies
  • European/Global knowledge of HTA requirements and HEOR
  • Proven track record of building a successful division would be advantageous.
  • Line Management experience would be advantageous.
