Job Description SummaryWe have a number of great opportunities for Operators to join our Manufacturing team based in Slough, UK. This is an excellent grounding role in the biotechnology industry either as an entry level position or as transition role for those wanting to transfer manufacturing experience from another industry.

 

Job Description

As a key member of the department you will be part of a team ensuring that biopharmaceutical products are manufactured to a high standard of quality within a GMP regulated environment. Positions exist within upstream and downstream processing so you will either be responsible for the production of therapeutic proteins using mammalian cell culture techniques or the purification of proteins using a wide range of purification techniques. All processes take place at mid to large scale.

Please be aware that Biotechnologists either work a 12 hour shift or 7.5 hour shift pattern and you will be required to work 1 weekend in every 2.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Working in a clean room environment you will either have direct involvement in mammalian cell culture or day to day purification of proteins
  • Through on the job training you will obtain a thorough knowledge of upstream or downstream processing       
  • You will ensure that a high standard of cGMP is adhered to at all times

  • Flexible attitude and the ability to work as part of a team on a rotating shift pattern with opportunities for planned and unplanned overtime   
  • You must possess and be able to demonstrate a meticulous approach to documentation and attention to detail. Experience of working in a GxP environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience within a regulated industry (e.g. food, aviation or chemical) would be beneficial but not essential.
