The Role



This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Global Analytical Sciences Group based at the Medimmune Cambridge facility. You will be joining the team involved in lot release, stability studies, early clinical trial support and technology transfer. With an exciting research pipeline, this is a great time to develop your career with MedImmune.



As part of the Analytical team you will play an important role in early drug development programmes by performing the analytical characterisation of novel proteins (from peptides to antibodies). Your main responsibilities will be to lead, as a proven subject matter expert in this area, the development of new analytical chromatography techniques (including HPLC/UPLC). Additionally, you will provide extensive theoretical and hands on expertise in developing, optimising and validating analytical chromatography methods suitable for process development, batch release and stability assessment. With your expertise, you will explore new technology for chromatographical analysis, as well as train and oversee more junior members in this area.



Essential Requirements

* Extensive theoretical and hands on experience of analytical chromatography techniques: including HPLC, UPLC (reversed phase, size exclusion, IEX).
* Proven track record of analytical method development, method troubleshooting and method selection. As well as method qualification/validation gained within a similar environment.
* Experience working with biologics; particularly antibody based therapeutics, but also peptides.
* Educated to BSc/MSc/PhD in a relevant scientific discipline.



Desirable Requirements

* Experience of other lot release and stability methodologies, for example capillary gel electrophoresis techniques (including SDS-PAGE, IEF).
* PhD in a related area.
