As a Contracts Associate you will be working as part of an international team of attorneys and contract professionals responsible for the drafting, negotiating, and processing of agreements with PRA’s clients, vendors, and subcontractors. This position presents the opportunity for successful candidates to receive training in clinical trial contracting and to develop skills that open possibilities for a long-term career path within the clinical research industry. Responsibilities in this position include:

  • Receiving requests for contracts and responding within expected turnaround time
  • Initiating and following processes for managing contracts under supervision of Legal Counsel
  • Producing error free documents, approved according to PRA procedure for presentation to corporate officers for signature
  • Receiving inquiries throughout the process and responding in a timely manner
  • Tracking and timely recording developments using PRA systems on a regular basis towards contract completion
  • Managing documents from creation to completion
  • Maintaining status reports on all activities
  • Prioritizing daily activities according to importance and urgency
  • Developing solutions to routine problems of limited scope

Desired skills and qualifications:

The contracting activity supported by this team is fast-paced, with short deadlines and quick turnaround times. Therefore, the candidates must be capable of managing their workload and priorities so as to meet business requirements in a timely fashion. While experience in the CRO or pharmaceutical industry will always be favorably considered, candidates need not have direct experience in clinical contracting activities, but must present the skills and aptitude to undertake the preparation and negotiation of complex agreements. We are seeking candidates with:

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of the basic nature of legally binding agreements
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience in contract administration or other relevant area
  • Experience in a professional environment preferred
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical/CRO industry highly desirable

Please note that a law degree is not a prerequisite for this role and PRA are not able to offer training contracts.
