The Senior Investigator is an experienced research physician who provides leadership and direction to the clinical staff during the conduct of a clinical study. As a senior role within both the Volunteer Screening Department and on the Unit, you will provide input into the development and management of a clinical study, in addition to carrying out study specific medical duties and screening functions.

Working closely with the Senior Medical Director, Director of Clinical Site Management, other SIs and the team of Investigators, you will oversee the study subjects, participate in assessments for eligibility, medical case reviews and medically supervise subjects during screening, out-patient studies and within the unit. In addition, this requires working across the board with other clinical colleagues, the Clinical Operations team and Project Management team.

During studies, you may assume study specific roles of Lead Investigator (managing the day to day responsibility of a study) or may be appointed in the role of Principal Investigator (PI) on a study. In addition, you will work closely with the Senior Medical Director and Director of Clinical Site Management to provide medical input into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines, and the leadership, assessment and training of permanent and bank medical staff.

The role involves cross functional management and coordination of both internal and external teams, clients and service providers. You will promote effective business relationships through stakeholder identification and management, including with relevant authorities handling critical medical and business discussions.



You will be a GMC registered medic with license to practice, ALS/ACLS certification and experience within Clinical Research within the pharmaceutical industry.   You will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of clinical research study processes and requirements.
