Job Summary:

This is an excellent opportunity to gain substantial line management responsibility, operate at a strategic level for a reputable pharmaceutical business, and build a platform of experience before stepping into a Medical Director position.

Only Medics are currently supporting a top 20 pharmaceutical business with 2 roles at Medical Lead level (eq. to AMD elsewhere) across Respiratory OR Cardiovascular medicine. The role would lead a large team including Medical/Senior Medical Advisors, MSL Manager, and second line management of the field based team. You are expected to have high strategic involvement sitting on both the TA Leadership Team and Medical Affairs Leadership team. Their established portfolios are well recognised in the industry and as a business they support the pursuit of further qualifications.

Role Responsibilities:
- Medical lead for either Respiratory or Cardiovascular medicine
- Design, lead, and implement medical strategy within the therapy area
- Sit on Leadership Teams and take strategic accountability on the business unit direction
- Lead, manage, and develop a Medical Affairs team c.7-15 reports (first and secondary reporting lines)
- Work effectively with other functions to effectively launch new indications in 2017
- Develop and implement medical governance to meet the high level of compliance expectations
- Provide medical training across the business where necessary
- Lead on the development and maintenance of KOL relationships

Role requirements:
- GMC registered physician
- Medical Affairs experience preferred, would consider candidates with experience in other functions if they have substantial management experience and understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice
- ABPI Final Signatory preferred
- Prior management responsibility required
- Experience in the therapy areas desirable but not essential
