Job Summary:

This role is responsible for the overall management of the tender process for our Abbott Medical Optics business across the UK, including contract and pricing negotiation with NHS Procurement Hubs

About the job

This role manages the day to day business relationship between Abbott Medical Optics and the NHS/public sector accounts

 

Responsibilities

 

Leads NHS Tender Process:

 

  • Proactively manage the tender from start to finish in collaboration with the field based Commercial organisation, Marketing and the wider business, ensuring completion and driving value added content on each submission.
  • Review legal and commercial content of the tender documents to limit risk and where necessary seek legal guidance.
  • Work with Management and Pricing Team to develop financial offering for each Tender
  • Work closely with the business and Tender team to evolve a Value Proposition which demonstrates all current value offerings.
  • Oversee tender debriefs; organise debrief meetings, review awarded scores and collate debrief data to drive process improvement. Where appropriate attend post tender meetings with the Commercial and Sales teams
  • Report back to UK Management on tender results and metrics
  • Continual improvement activities to ensure world class tender responses

 

Responsible for successfully developing and retaining strong relationships with key stakeholders within the NHS

 

Guide Sales Team through the entire deal cycle and help them understand customer KPIs.

 

Manages UK NHS Hubs through set up and management of framework agreements to ensure consistency of pricing across different trade channels

 

Collate and understand the buying patterns for each Hub so that potential strategies by buying point can be decided

 

Regularly review contract KPIs and propose remedial action when required

 

Manages pricing strategy and in the NHS Channel to maximise sales, market share and profit objectives

 

Responds to benchmarking and pricing requests

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • NHS Bid/Tender Management experience essential
  • You will provide NHS procurement advice and expertise to the wider team, and on this basis you will have experience working in a similar autonomous role
  • Experience negotiating directly with NHS Procurement is essential
  • Experience of the NHS /OJEU procurement/sales process is essential

 

  • Ideally educated to degree level in a business orientated subject (Finance, Economics, Business)
  • Prior experience interacting with public sector is essential
  • Prior experience of working with a sales team and/or customer facing role is preferred
  • Knowledge of EU Legislation and Competition Law regarding procurement beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills as daily communication with customers, directors, sales team and other managers
  • Ability to prioritise work on a daily basis
  • Team player and customer focused
  • Ability to analyse, work through and identify solutions to problems
