We’re looking for a Global Payroll Manager to join our team! This is a permanent opportunity to be located in our office in Wokingham, UK.

The Global Payroll Manager is responsible for all the activities related to the preparation and settlement of global payroll activities. Works without supervision on complex projects, to improve and simplify process to optimize resource and service to the organisation. This position reports to the Director HR Analytics, System and Payroll, works closely with the finance team, and manages the daily activities of global payroll team.

 This role is full-time. The role is responsible for payroll activities globally.

You'll be accountable for:

  • Proactive management of all payrolls and payroll related activities to ensure employees are paid on time and in compliance with local legislation
  • Management of the Global payroll team
  • Developing and managing to a strategic plan for payroll
  • Continually benchmarking current practices to understand and propose leading edge process, tools and capabilities
  • Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing occurs
  • Determining best practices for validation process
  • Align with audit requirements for validating payroll each month. 
  • Owning relationship with all vendors, understanding each SLA
  • Managing the process for new payroll rollouts
  • Coordinating required actions with senior management in HR and international tax agencies etc.
  • Communicating schedules for system upgrades, enhancements and process changes to all internal users in coordination with appropriate personnel.
  • Policy and Controls: such as SOX, SAS70, and Other Controls 
  • Approving funding of various payments including, payroll, 401(k), FSA, Manual checks, etc.
  • Applying the teams’ in-depth knowledge of international payroll, which includes accurately recording tax implications of assignment compensation
  • Ensuring timely controls are in place to manage fully the processing of time sheet data both weekly and semi-monthly
  • Managing the full export of timesheet data from Deltek periodically and reconcile these entries to the Cost Point system accordingly.
  • Reviewing journal entries and reconciliations as required
  • Understanding payroll related accounting principles, partnering closely with the accounting and finance team on a regular basis
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing the payroll team
  • Conducting all forms of appraisal and feedback regularly for team members

You'll need this to be considered:

  • Qualified Payroll professional with a bachelor/master’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous work experience in payroll in UK  Europe, US payrolls
  • US payroll software, taxes, benefits and 401k essential.
  • Up to date payroll approach/knowledge/experience
  • Finance experience related to payroll activities
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation
  • Management of a small team
  • Vendor Management
  • Management of budgets and costs for the department
  • Understanding of working with databases/HRIS systems and processes
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Confident and respectful communicator who is able to deal with people at all levels of the organization
  • Must have the ability to handle sensitive data and situations of a highly confidential nature
  • Must be able to contribute to and be a part of a reputable, credible and valuable Payroll/HR function for the global organisation
