Currently recruiting for an Account Director for a specialist healthcare communications agency with two offices located in Cheshire.

The Account Director will provide clear project leadership to all members of the Accounts Team. The Account Director will ensure that all assigned projects and accounts are completed according to time and budgetary requirements are in-line with the company quality standards.

Leading client relationships; guide and direct the wider team and provide key strategic input. Having a proactive awareness and understanding of new developments in the relevant therapy areas and the healthcare industry in general, and how these developments may affect a client's strategy.

Responsible for Senior Account Managers and Account Managers the Account Director will be the ambassador for the team and wider company. Exemplifying sound communication skills, motivating account teams and upholding the agency values.

Responsibilities will include:

* Ultimate responsibility for overall account performance, financial performance and growth
* Account direction - strategic consultancy and marketing insight
* Client interface - overall relationship, strategic overview, service quality, issues management
* Overall account team leadership and motivation
* Resource planning in co-ordination with other departments
* Leads specific new-new business activities/ supports Account Manager in account(s) business development
* Contribution to company initiatives to improve business performance
* To manage and develop line reports (mentor as required)

Requirements for the role

* 7-9 years ‘relevant' experience (pharma/agency)
* A life science degree, ideally combined with a Master's or PhD
* Demonstrable people management experience
* Financial management and budget responsibility
* Project Management experience
