As a Senior Associate/Consultant you should have an appropriate understanding of the organization’s consulting models and methodologies, as well as knowledge of what services PAREXEL commercialization provides. You should be technically competent and continuously work on developing the required skills. You should take responsibility for ensuring that client work is performed, and delivered on time, meeting the quality expectations of the department and the client, under the general direction of a Project Lead and Technical subject matter experts. You should also be able to act in a client facing role with an appropriate level of support from line management.

As a Senior Associate or Consultant you should be able to:

• work effectively within a collaborative team environment but equally work effectively independently, delivering services within their area of competence
• work within broad project guidelines as directed by the Project Lead and/or Technical subject matter experts
• take initiative to prioritize work to achieve specified project outcomes while confirming alignment with project lead and line manager
• capitalize on opportunities to improve one’s own performance and seek feedback from the project Lead and colleagues
• apply information provided by the project Lead or senior colleagues to complete assigned project activities
• produce quality work that meets the expectations of project Lead and the client
• manage own workload to ensure project delivery within agreed timescales
• communicate proactively with project lead and other colleagues, as appropriate
• act as in internal consultant providing statistical advice to colleagues
• mentor/coach more junior staff

Ideal candidate will possess:

• M.Sc. or advanced degree in Statistics or related field (e.g. Mathematics, Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, Computer Science, Econometrics)
• At least 3 years (Senior Associate) or 5 years (Consultant) of working within the Pharmaceutical industry, academic or consultancy with statistical analysis or statistical programming
• Advanced programming experience with SAS or R (required) and ideally experience of other statistical software packages (desirable)
• Develop SAS or R coding and table templates for preparing, processing and analyzing clinical/or and insurance claims data
• Strong knowledge of basic and some more advanced statistical methodologies including, for example, survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis, predictive equations or psychometric analyses (validation of Clinical Outcome Assessments such as patient reported outcomes)
• Experience of real world data/observational study design
• Experience of writing statistical analysis plans (SAPs) and analysis results within study reports
• Experience in analysis of data from retrospective and prospective data sources
• Experience of analysis of clinical trial data with knowledge of CDISC, SDTM and ADaM
• Knowledge in epidemiological and statistical methods using on large medical administrative claims databases, registries and electronic medical record (EMR) data
• Strong understanding in matching algorithms, adherence/persistence and missing value handling
• Ability to understand and implement new statistical methods using SAS or R
• Experience in analysis of databases such as Truven MarketScan, SDI, CPRD is a plus, but not required
• Strong communication (spoken and written) and problem-solving skills
• Ability to compile, analyze and present data in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
