Job Summary:

My client, an expanding medical device company, is looking for an R&D Technician to join their team. This is a permanent position, based in Galway.


The R&D Technician works as part of the R&D team tasked with supporting the development and processes for projects under development.


  • Ensure R&D area meets regulatory compliance and is audit ready at all times in terms of GMP and GDP.
  • Support the R&D Engineers in the development of products.
  • Generate test data and technical documentation to support ongoing development work.
  • Assist on troubleshooting technical process and product issues.
  • Provide daily support in the R&D area in the set up and development of processes and products.
  • Develop a good level of understanding of applicable regulations including EU and FDA regulations.




  • 2+ years’ experience in a medical device or other similar organization.
  • Demonstrated strong ability in technical problem solving, determining root cause and implementing temporary and long term solutions.
  • Continually learning and exploring more efficient methods to perform duties.
  • Capacity to make decisions in conjunction with others while learning from mistakes.
  • A good knowledge of the regulatory environment in which the business operated.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality internally and externally.
  • Ability to work on his/her own initiative.
