SRG Clinical are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Principal level contract Statistician. The client is a global pharmaceutical company based in Switzerland and the role would be on site for the duration of the contract length. We would also be able to offer support in terms of finding an accommodation.


Responsibilities incl.: 

  • Statistical leader for one or more Therapeutic Areas
  • Ensure that the clinical development programs (or parts assigned) meets scientific, regulatory, quality, and commercialization requirements, thorough interactions with the Life Cycle Team and the Clinical Project Team
  • Manage functionally a group of statisticians and programmers at various levels with respect to deliverables, processes, and professional development, and mentor staff as required
  • Plan and track project level activities, including resources
  • Present Biostatistics in Clinical Development’s standardization efforts
  • Provide support towards Business Development as applicable
  • Work efficiently in a matrix-managed environment
  • Review and anticipate resource requirements for existing projects
  • Provide Resource Plans and timelines for deliverables for assigned projects
  • Be accountable for quality and timeliness of various deliverables and milestones under her/his responsibility
  • Take ownership of statistical and scientific robustness either directly as a trial statistician, project statistician, or in a supervisory role
  • Support the enhancement of best statistical practices
  • Supervise the writing of the statistical section of the protocol, SAP, and CSRs
  • Present statistical aspects in internal and external meetings
  • Lead or supports continuous improvement, acceleration and quality of working procedures and outputs in the area of statistics
  • Interacts with regulatory authorities on statistical issues on assigned projects/TAs
  • Mentor/coach statisticians, statistical programmers, and trainees
  • Provide statistical education to other functions
  • Maintain I develop a high standard of statistical methodology


Experience Required:

  • PhD or MSc. Degree in Statistics, or Bachelor in Applied Statistics
  • Extensive experience in Clinical Trials
  • Multiple years’ experience as Senior Statistician (Pharma or CRO)
  • Experience gained in the tasks of Project Statistician
  • Sound experience in different clinical trial phases
  • Good project management skills
  • Very good communication and presentation skills
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of SAS and of software for sample size estimations
  • Familiarity with all aspects of study design
  • Ability to give effective guidance to Trial Statisticians and Statistical Programmers
