This role is based in our new modern state of the art office in Nottingham city centre which has excellent transport links.

The primary role of the Associate  Language Specialist (ALS) is to coordinate and maintain the language activities (recordings/translations) involved in the development of Interactive Response Technologies (IRT). You will be responsible for the provision of language services in support of RTSM study builds and subsequent change requests, and/or any development tools and applications used to support the RTSM delivery function.

Key Accountabilities:

Co-ordinate language activities with project teams and external vendors.
- Create new prompts.
- Co-ordinate the translation and recording of prompts and work to the scheduled timelines for each project.
- Understand and advise on language requirements for projects.
- Manage delivery timelines with vendors and Project Managers

Be trained in assigned specialists’ tasks (supervising linguists, comments, bookings, queries, linguist recruitment etc.)
- Recruit and train new linguists.
- Schedule and arrange booking of linguists.
- Work with the linguists and translation vendors to resolve translation and recording issues, and maintain translation and recording quality.
- Advise Client Services, Production and Customer Care regarding issues relating to prompts and translation.
- Create capacity, demand and quality metrics, as requested.
- Suggest improvements to processes for efficiency and quality.
- Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert.

Manage and be responsible for the quality and timeliness of own workload.
- Report any circumstances requiring urgent or specific attention at the earliest opportunity so that client expectations can be managed.
- Participate in formal performance review processes.

Mentor and train other team members.
- Train other team members in specialist tasks, as directed.
- Support training and mentoring of others across all disciplines as appropriate to personal skill and competency level.
- Provide training and advice to Operations staff and resolve user queries.

Qualifications

Education:
- Degree in appropriate discipline, or equivalent, or relevant work experience

Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience in a professional work environment.
- Working knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience of working within a team.
