This role is based in our new modern state of the art office in Nottingham city centre which has excellent transport links and a great working environment that has the feel of an innovate technology company.

PAREXEL is investing heavily in strengthening its software engineering teams in Nottingham, and is looking for a further Senior Software Engineer to expand this team.

You will be responsible for collaborating with the R&D function within PAREXEL Informatics Engineering, including integration software and infrastructure design, ensuring quality and performance standards are met.

Data analysis
- Applies data analysis, data modelling, and quality assurance techniques, based upon a detailed understanding of business processes, to establish, modify or maintain data structures and associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions).

Database design
- Develops and maintains specialist knowledge of database concepts, object and data modelling techniques and design principles and a detailed knowledge of database architectures, software and facilities

Programming/software development
- Designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications, and subsequent iterations, using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well engineered result

Systems design
- Specifies user/system interfaces, and translates logical designs into physical designs taking account of target environment, performance security requirements and existing systems.


So, if you’ve got some or all of the following skills and/or experience to offer and want to grow and develop in them too, then this may be the one for you…

- Full stack development – Web applications, Mobile, APIs, Service Oriented Architectures etc.
- Technologies such as: C# (essential), ASP.Net, ReSTful web services, JavaScript, Angular/Typescript, Microsoft Azure, SQL, HTML 5, CSS3
- Object oriented coding - especially Design Patterns and SOLID principals
- Tooling such as: Visual Studio, Resharper, TeamCity, Gulp, PowerShell, Testing frameworks and tools (NUnit/Xunit/Moq/Jasmin/Specflow/Selenium), source control tools (Git in particular), Octopus Deploy
- Agile/Lean Best practises: Scrum, Kanban, Scale Agile Framework (SAFe), lean principals, BDD/TDD, continuous
- Integration/delivery, DevOps as a culture (not just the tools)
