Mary Bolt is recruiting for a Medical Science Liaison to join a family-held pharmaceutical company in a field based position on a permanent basis. This a non-promotional hybrid role that combines traditional field-based medical activities with strategic Medical Advisor responsibilities.

The main purpose of the role will be to:
-Provide high quality scientific information to health care professionals (HCPs) in response to specific requests and initiate and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
-Proactively identify areas of development for assigned therapeutic area, input into medical plans and execute medical affairs strategy by taking actions that lead to advances ensuring optimal patient treatment.
-Input into the clinical development plan, study design and protocols to ensure that UK needs are addressed, proactively identify data gaps and work with relevant stakeholders to fill unmet needs and drive company-sponsored studies and have full responsibility for assigned investigator-sponsored studies (ISSs).

Further responsibilities will include:
-Providing scientific support to sales and marketing teams, providing internal scientific training, input into the development of company materials and act as a compliance reviewer for sales/ marketing materials.
-Acting as a compliance advisor for internal teams and have the opportunity to develop into a scientific non-final signatory reviewer as well as supporting the provision of educational meetings focused on iron deficiency anaemia management by interaction with HCP speakers to provide briefings around compliance, product information, clinical and scientific data, and support development of presentations.
-Developing and implementing therapy area specific UK publications plan by identifying relevant UK generated data from clinician led audits/studies, advise on medical writing/data analysis as required and support publication in appropriate formats (congress abstracts, journal articles etc.).

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
-Educated to degree level or above in life sciences, pharmacy or related field and ideally a higher qualification such as a Master's or PhD.
-Previous experience in an MSL position and an understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the NHS.
-Strong drive, collaborative mind set and excellent communication skills as well as having a successful track record at building and maintaining relationships with KOLs/Stakeholders.
