Requirements:

i-Pharm has partnered with a global pharmaceutical company in West Lothian, to hire a Quality Scientist with serology experience, on a permanent basis.

This role will be responsible for performing a variety of serology and biochemical tests and assays on antibody derived blood typing components and related products, and ensuring that all activities are compliant with GMP and current regulatory framework.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):
• Performing serology and biochemical tests activities
• Performing validation of both serological and biochemical methods including HPLC and ELISA
• Supporting and participating in projects including change management projects
• Participating in the Laboratory Stability Project for Blood Typing Reagents
• Using and maintaining all laboratory equipment correctly
• Accurately documenting and reporting all test results
• Editing and updating laboratory testing SOPs when required
• Seeking out process improvements/cost saving opportunities for the QC lab
• Performing tracking, trend analysis and technical investigations of relevant QC processes and Out of Specification results

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Degree in a scientific discipline (biochemistry, immunology or relevant life sciences)
• 2 years of laboratory experience in a GMP/GLP manufacturing or laboratory testing industry including serology, HPLC systems and other analytical equipment
• Proven track record in participating in projects and change management
• Experience working with blood typing processes and serology
• Experience working in standard operating procedures in a GMP/GLP environment – essential
