Brief Job Description:

Role title: Senior Associate, Business Development, Pricing

Role goal: Develop and deliver budgets that communicate the price and structure of our services, and collaborate with all internal and external members of UBC teams, or our clients, as appropriate – to position UBC for growth.

Specific services to be supported in this role:

  • Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) – regulatory requirements from the Food & Drug Administration
  • Knowledge, Attitude & Behavior Surveys to support Risk Management
  • European Risk Management Programmes (EU RMPs) – regulatory requirements from the European Medicines Authority
  • Reimbursement Hubs, Hotlines and Call Centers
  • Nurse Call Centers, Clinical Coordination Services
  • Nurse Site of Care, Home Health nursing services
  • Field Reimbursement Services
  • Field Clinical Nurse Educator Services
  • Patient Assistance Programs (Pharmacy services, quick-start and bridge programs)
  • Various other sub-services pursuant to the above core solutions

Business Partners:

The Senior Associate will lead and coordinate the associated RFP pricing activities across the following internal and external stakeholders:

Sales, Proposals partners, Pricing partners, contracts management, business/department functional owners, quality management, training, information technology, infrastructure, scientific and medical advisors, 3rd party bidders involved in the solution offering, Executive Management and our clients

Essential Functions:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading business development opportunities including the following activities:

  • Develop pricing in response to client RFPs.
  • Create comprehensive Excel models of the pricing output which include budget and financial dashboards. Dashboards include roll-up views, detailed raw tabular views, pivot tables, summary views of labor, pricing, activities, and other scenarios as needed.
  • Coordinate multiple internal groups and vendors in the preparation of pricing.
  • Ensure all pricing documents are accurate.
  • Participate and lead/support meetings related to RFPs and other strategic planning activities as requested by Management.
  • Work with Operations in the negotiation and finalization of program budgets, assumptions and specifications.
  • Represent the pricing team at bid defense presentations and in client teleconferences if required to support budget discussions and negotiations.
  • Attend sales presentations and meetings.
  • Support or lead Business Development initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in pricing services for a CRO or other pharmaceutical support services organization (services could include: clinical trials, registries, post-marketing safety studies, pharmacovigilance, site and patient recruitment, REMS/RMPs, reimbursement hubs/hotlines/call centers, nursing support programs/call centers, patient assistance programs, IVR and other technology, or clinical quality assurance).
  • Advanced Excel skills to create, navigate, and communicate UBC pricing results and scenarios.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Navigate in a matrix environment, to ensure the needs/goals of pricing are met, under complex timelines including being flexible in working around contributors schedules. Solicit appropriate feedback from all assigned operational stakeholders and other business partners.
  • Strong business acumen in leading calls, keeping focus on key deliverables at hand, offering clear and concise status and needs assessment during the life-cycle of pricing for opportunities.
  • Delivering authoritative command of the deliverable (what is in the deliverable, rationale, etc.) to establish confidence in deliverable accuracy.
  • Relationship management with all internal team(s) to drive trust and transparency in the development of the deliverables.
