Job Summary:

With a continually growing and diverse pipeline, my client is looking for an experienced lab-based scientist to join the company’s in-house commercial cell line development group.

Requirements:

Job type: Permanent FTC

Location: South of England

Salary: £Competitive

My client is an emerging biotech which has an impressive immune-oncology pipeline, looking to become a household name in the production of biologics to battle cancer. They have been aggressively expanding over the last 12 months as they look take a big step towards manufacturing. Financially backed by a number of global pharmaceutical entities, this company is set to stay.

Responsibilities are to:

  • Develop and optimise commercially viable biologics
  • Evaluate, implement and troubleshoot new technologies which include automated cell culture systems
  • Develop high throughput analytical technologies
  • Be responsible for the writing and submission of regulatory documents
  • Lead by example in on-going process development

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • PhD in molecular biology/biotechnology or MSc with significant industry experience
  • Experience in commercial cell line development for recombinant protein expression
  • Industry experience, technical knowledge of biologics and GMP manufacturing experience
  • Experience in automatic data capturing and technology transfer
  • Small scale protein purification
  • Line management or project management experience
  • Experience in regulatory documents and submission processes
  • Strategy expertise to optimise protein expression
  • Need to be able to work to tight deadlines, be organised, be able to multi-task, prioritise projects
  • Able to work with a number of research groups in a collaborative style
