Covance, a leading global drug development services company, is looking for a Cytogenetic Consultant to join the Genetics and Toxicology team based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

As a Cytogenetic consultant you will act as a consultant for any Cytogenetics endpoints resulting from Genetic Toxicology studies.Cytogenetic Consultant is responsible for the analysis of microscope slides and the generation of data resulting from the analysis.


  • Performing assays as required in the Cytogenetics laboratory.
  • Assisting with formulation and dilution of test articles for use in assays.
  • Assisting with treatment of cultures with test and control chemicals in the Cytogenetics assays.
  • Harvesting and fixation of cells.
  • Preparation, staining, mounting and coding of slides for Cytogenetic analysis.
  • General laboratory maintenance, cleaning and calibration of laboratory equipment.

Education / Qualifications

This position is suitable for you if you have been educated to graduate level with a scientific background (or a non-graduate with significant relevant experience).


  • Experience with microscope analysis preferable.
