The opportunity:

Are you passionate about the Trial Master File (TMF), looking for a fresh challenge and have extensive people and project management experience? We are looking for a Head of Department to lead and develop our TMF Readiness division.

Our Readiness team take responsibility for facilitating Inspection Readiness through completeness quality checks within the TMF, both in paper and electronic form.

The role:

In this key role you will be responsible for ensuring operational effectiveness is achieved through a focus on increased efficiency, quality and productivity.  The role will report into the US based Director of TMF Operations. 

A full job description will be provided ahead of interviews but in brief, your role will include:

  • Lead, direct and coordinate all activities of the TMF Readiness team on a global level which covers UK, US and Poland
  • Responsible for driving TMF Readiness team revenues to ensure billable targets are met whilst controlling costs and non billable time.
  • Compile and analyse raw performance data to set targets, manage performance and determine areas for improvement to  maximise operational effectiveness and quality across the department.
  • Ensure performance for operational delivery times are approprtiately documented for completeness, remap and other speciual projects.
  • Develop and implement global division procedures, reports, goals and objectives which facilitate operational efficiency, high productivity and maintain quality levels in with organisational aims and objectives.
  • Determine resource requirements, interview, hire and ensure staff are trained as required working with Managers and Leads across the department with a focus on delivering to operational and financial targets, maximising growth of individuals and maximising profit potential. 
  • Lead, motivate, and effectively manage, develop and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the task. Always leading by example and providing positive support to colleagues and team members with clear objectives and real time guidance and feedback.

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have proven operational management experience in a clinical trial administration environment.
  • Have experience of leading and managing teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Have proven line management experience
  • Have experience of resource planning, driving revenues, controlling costs and statistical analysis of data.
  • Are flexible, rational, organised and innovative who can prioritise, make decisions, ad reschedule tasks as appropriate in a fast paced environment
  • Can demonstrate a strong flair for innovation to ensure continuous process improvement is at the heart of every day activities

 The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a background working with Trial Master File documents, extensive knowledge of Essential Documents is required
  • Be highly self-motivated leader with the ability to line manage, coach, mentor and inspire others to maximise their potential
  • Be an effector communicator at all levels
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
  • Have Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills
  • Demonstrate a flexible, proactive, diligent and self-motivated approach to work
