The role:

You will be responsible to manage and develop a team of Client Project Managers within the Project Management department. You will ensure that our projects are appropriately resourced, as well as ownership of a portfolio of clients’ projects of your own, delivering excellent client project management service throughout the life of the projects.

A full job description will be provided ahead of interviews but in brief, your role will include:

  • Line management responsibility for the Client Project Management team.  In conjunction with Director of Project Management establish personal development plans for Project Managers, including ongoing training, review and assessment of Core Competencies
  • Responsible for team recruitment when required and co-ordination of new hire induction plans, staff training programs and records
  • Primary client contact on allocated projects and responsibility for project management of assigned projects
  • Develop project plans to ensure milestones are achieved as per contract and applicable regulations
  • Independently manage project according to the scope of work within contracted budget and according to SLAs
  • Prepare budget forecasts in consultation with other Heads of Departments and Directors. Maintain finance trackers to manage progress of project
  • Responsible for identifying and correctly addressing out of scope activities or change orders as required including reporting to client and internal stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Represent Phlexglobal at client meetings face to face and via teleconference as required
  • Involved in inspection readiness and audit preparation activities as appropriate and provide PM support during Inspections/Audits

We are looking for individuals who have:

  • Demonstrated strong line management experience in a project management environment
  • Robust pharmaceutical industry experience within a Clinical/Medical environment is preferable
  • In depth knowledge of ICH/GCP and appropriate standards relevant to document management and a thorough understanding of the drug development process
  • Excellent negotiation skills and diplomacy
  • Good numeracy skills and financial/ commercial awareness
  • The flexibility to travel to other countries (particularly US) as  and when required

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous project management experience, essential
  • Have previous direct line management experience, essential
  • Have experience of managing teams in a fast paced environment
  • Have some proven experience of developing people
  • Be an effective communicator at all levels
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
  • Have strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills
