Job Background

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Project Data Manager to join our team within Data Management! The Senior Project Data Manager will be responsible for planning, execution, and delivery of Clinical Data Management projects on schedule and within budget, and within Chiltern and/or sponsor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

This position can be home based anywhere in the United States.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with respective project sponsor and stakeholders to develop effective project plans to include scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, risks, issues and milestone timing.
2. Effectively plan and execute multiple Data Management projects simultaneously. Provide updates directly to senior stakeholders as requested by line management.
3. Participate in Business Development presentations and bid development.
4. Support the production of bids and proposals development.
5. Assign tasks and responsibilities within Data Management to team members, in a manner that: optimizes team capability; delivers timely and accurate results; and supports the needs of the business.
6. Ensure that assigned team executes Data Management functions in accordance with Chiltern and/or sponsor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
7. Provide guidance to less-experienced Project Data Managers.
8. Assess ongoing and future project resource needs on an ongoing basis to Line Management.
9. Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders.
10. Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout project lifecycle.
11. Manage sponsor relationships and triage issues as appropriate.
12. Ensure that project team member performance supports project budget and delivery requirements.
13. Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved through appropriate change management processes.
14. Effectively lead a team of cross-functional associates towards common project goals. Proactively identify and address team cohesion obstacles to project success.
15. Participate in and/or contribute to Sponsor and/or Regulatory audits/inspections.
16. Participate/attend Sponsor requested meetings as required.
17. Perform other duties as required by the Department.



1. University degree in Medical/Life Science/Computer Science.
2. Minimum 5+ years of experience leading Data Management projects.
3. Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information during interactions with staff at all levels.
4. Proven ability to Lead Data Management activities on large global studies.
5. Ability to drive and oversee a cross-functional team via effective delegation and team workload assignment.
6. Excellent communication skills to support effective interactions with sponsors and internal colleagues.
7. Prior experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device/diagnostic or clinical trial industries.
