Job Summary:

One of the top 5 largest pharmaceutical companies in the world is currently seeking a Technical Specialist in Biologics. You will be responsible for the management of specifications related to raw material and single use assembly within the Biologics Plant. Furthermore, you will work with the Procurement site as part of the material review process to ensure that all appropriate items have been qualified for approval. This is a full-time, 12 months contract position based in Cork, Ireland.

Role/ Description


  • Collaborate with the Integrated Process Team (IPT) to design and specify details related to consumables and single use components for fermentation and purification activities and process trains
  • Collaborate with Quality control and Procurement regarding the specification of raw material for fermentation and purification processes.
  • Provide support related to quotations and purchase orders to customers and supply managements
  • Ensure the on-time delivery of high priority raw materials according to operation schedule timelines
  • Work according to Purchasing policy regulations and company guidelines


  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a similar operating or technical support role within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Understanding of more than one manufacturing operation within pharmaceutical or chemical industry
  • Experience working with procurement and supply chain teams
  • Degree or 3rd level qualification in science or engineering
  • Preference for candidates with a Process and Technology background, Six Sigma Green Belt and/or project management qualifications such as PMP
