Job Purpose:

The Senior Data Management Lead (SDML) takes overall accountability on the execution of Data Management Early Phase In-Unit and Early Product Development projects. The SDML manages the delivery of all relevant Data Management activities from database setup through database lock. General areas of responsibility include: coordination of the relevant Data Management team members and their activities across all geographies, liaising with project leadership, other functional leaders (clinical, biostatistics, medical, medical writing etc.) and the client as a single point of contact, to ensure that the contracted data management deliverables are being met; specifically in terms of quality, timeliness and financial management. The SDML shall provide leadership and influencing capabilities to ensure business objectives are achieved within Data Management to both PAREXEL and its clients. The SDML may act as Project Manager for standalone DM projects or projects involving a small number of services, where no Project Manager is assigned.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership to ensure the project is completed within quality, budget, timelines and according to contract specifications.
  • Review project information, gather input/create timelines, implement and track milestones and timelines, monitor progress and provide updates, as required.
  • Review of ClinBase & DataLabs setup.
  • Review and provide guidance to SOPs, DM related protocol sections and other key documents to ensure proper storage as per the required process.
  • Communicate with and manage internal project teams, external customers, TPVs and sites. Participate in client, investigator and team meetings.
  • Review metrics reports regularly, determine the cause of any project overruns.
  • Participate in cross function meetings and Business Development and Bid Defense meetings as required.
  • Prepare for and participate in audits/inspections.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
QualificationsSkills:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Strong communication skills with a diplomatic approach. Comfortable delivering presentations also.
  • Courageous, resilient and adaptable.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Experience in leading projects in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Demonstrated application of Project Management concepts.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Robust knowledge of ICH-GCP Guidelines.
  • Thorough understanding of ClinBase and DataLabs systems.
  • Basic knowledge of SAS.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a life science field, medical qualification (e.g. Nursing) or relevant Data Management experience.
