Lead Information Architect – Regulatory Informatics

As Lead Information Architect for Regulatory Informatics, you play a fundamental role in designing the next generation of information-centric solutions that will support Pharma Development (PD) and Pharma Technical (PT) Regulatory, 100+ global DRA affiliates, Pharma Informatics (PI) organisation and user’s evolving business needs.  You analyze and design the data stored by information systems, concentrating on entities, their attributes, and their interrelationships (data modelling).

 

Your main responsibilities are:

● Develop and maintain a strategic cross-solution and cross-functional Information landscape and flow for all PD and PT Regulatory solutions including connectivity to 100+ global DRA affiliates, other Pharma-wide functions, and  to 3rd party solutions (both in-house and external hosted)

● Provide in-depth identification and resolution of information flow and content issues

● Identify areas for improvement in terms of information structure and flow, automation, information representation and advise Solution Owners and project teams for best practice and implementation

● Provide Information Architecture thought leadership Pharma-wide and actively drive within the Pharma Informatics (PI) organization as it executes on information centric design and “data as a strategic asset” strategies set forth by the Global Head of PI.

● Lead and be a key contributor to the PI Information Architecture framework to be developed and adopted globally across PI by 2018.

● Lead and be a key contributor to the development and maintenance of an overall Information Architecture framework components including Data Glossary & Data Standards, Information Models, Information Flow, Information Governance, and Tools & Training

● Work to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and maintainability of the information products.

● Identify user requirements by researching and analyzing user needs, preferences, objectives, and working methods; studying how users consume content, including data categorization and labeling; meeting with focus groups

● Provide project teams with expertise in applying concept of data modeling and information layer architecture and platforms like Informatica

● Ensure models, data and transformation processes are aligned with model driven architecture

● Serve as Lead Architect for Pharma-wide transformational projects, especially IDMP & MDA (Identification of Medicinal Products) that is a leading program across Pharma in delivery upon “data as an asset” and end-to-end information flow strategies for regulated medicinal products

● Act as an MDM and IA technical leader on the STRIVE Design Authority - a technical steering and decision making body for the PD-wide STRIVE information initiative

● Drive implementation and adoption of the Master Data Governance Framework across Pharma through role on Master Data Governance Council (MDGC) by advocating for Data Governance and providing expertise in areas of data quality, data standards, and business value of master data governance

● Work with Business and Informatics to understand the As-is and To-be information flows. Analysis is driven by Business Processes requirements and Systems Landscapes on Information Entity level.

● Coach and support peer architects or team members (thought leadership)

● Lead a virtual team of architects and technical/business experts if requested/needed across the pharma organization

Who you are

● You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent with strong management experience and proven track record of running high performing environments in multiple technical or business domains including pharma-wide functions.

● You are fluent in English and you have the ability to travel globally as required up to 20% of the time.

You bring the following qualifications:

● Extensive of relevant experience in professional services and systems integration and/or implementation experience

● Good working knowledge of semantic technologies, modeling skills incl. schema design

● Understanding of model driven architecture and how this can benefit development processes and ongoing operation of systems and experience with Information Architecture concepts

● Ability to use adequate abstraction of the information entities from high level data flow to low level solution centric data attributes

● Strong analytical skills, ability to learn new processes and new concepts, to link business processes with information entities and to understand the technical constraints with technical capabilities, to define system requirements, as well as strong customer orientation and communication skills

● Strong background in SQL and NoSQL storage systems and data modeling.

● Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering software that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities
