Project Analyst/Senior Project Analyst – Finance

We are seeking a Project Analyst/Senior Project Analyst to provide numerical analysis or other data to Business Development and other departments for the purposes of proposal preparation (ie. mapping to client bid grids, exchange rates & inflation, and unit-based bids) and to ensure that timelines and accuracy of information supports the product life cycle. 

In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

  

  • Create payment schedules for inclusion in proposals, contracts and contract amendments, ensuring that Chiltern will be cash positive for the duration of the study.
  • Monitor Vendor financial performance throughout the life of the study to ensure favorable cash flow for Vendor and Clinical Investigator contracts
  • Oversee monthly completion of Study Metrics by Project Teams, so defining operational progress of the study, and calculating the WIP (revenue) percentages to be input into Cost Centre (budget management software) each month.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgeted tasks, so identifying ‘out of scope’ activities. Discuss these scope changes with the Project Manager and the presentation of potential cost implications to the client, regarding both services and expenses.
  • Costing Contract Amendments worth less than £100k for variations in scope from the original contract; and creating the Operational aspects of the Contract Amendment document to send to the client.
  • Project budget reallocation based on actual distribution of sites and patients globally. This is done as a quarterly review via the Study Metrics, until Last Site Initiated (LSI) and Last Patient In (LPI).
  • Ensure project revenue is correctly stated each month across all regions and departments, via WIP (revenue) Review Meetings in advance of each month-end Cost Centre (budget management software) lock.
  • Project revenue backlog quarterly, and forecasting study revenue monthly.
  • Initiate and approve service, unit cost and pass through invoices. Monitor project cash flow position and profitability, and report issues to line manager. Collaborate with Finance Department to obtain invoicing information.
  • Attend regular operational project team meetings, operational meetings with Department Heads, and monthly Project Management Review (PMR) & Global PMR (GPMR) meetings. Contribute financial insight regarding project operational issues and perform other duties as required by the Department

 

We require a BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or related discipline along with 2-4 years of experience (Project Analyst level) or 5+ years of experience (Sr. Project Analyst level) along with the ability to maintain confidentiality of employee data and information during all interactions; previous Project Analyst experience, preferably within clinical research; proficiency with MS Office programs; and the ability to assess issues from a range of perspectives including internal and external clients in order to provide compromised solutions.
