Job purpose

To implement and execute business plans to meet sales goals for assigned Primary care territory. To drive territory sales performance, market share and optimal resource utilization. To develop effective professional business relationships with customers that support delivery of business results in a specific therapeutic area. To contribute to and implement account plans with complex customers including GPs, Practice Nurses (including Long term condition specialists), Practice Based Pharmacists, Retail Pharmacists, Practice Managers and Primary care business managers. To differentiate Novartis as a leader in a specific therapeutic area. Maintain high levels of collaboration throughout internal team specifically KAM and PAM roles.


Key Responsibilities


- Executes account plans for assigned product lines/brands, customers or therapeutic area; uncovers and develops new business opportunities within Primary care.
- Develops and applies understanding of customer organizations and networks and of diverse influences that affect customer decisions (e.g. peer relationships)
- Develops business/clinical customer relationships across Primary care by implementing the broader account plan.
- Adapts and optimizes approach and communications style during sales calls, responding appropriately to customer needs
- Makes effective use of available technologies and channels to support sales calls.
- Proactive collaboration across functions, in particular KAM, PAM and MSL field roles
- Ensures that Novartis products and supporting services are broadly understood and available to more patients and customers.
- Deploys and uses Marketing and Sales promotional materials and programs; coordinates direct promotion programs and facilitates pull-through activities.
- Develops deep specialist product and disease state knowledge in a specific therapeutic area and leverages this to build professional customer relationships and support sound clinical discussions.
- Uses detailed knowledge of local services and product features and benefits during sales calls to improve sales of Novartis products and/or improved referral rates of Pts into services
- Allocates resources effectively to target localities in order to host peer to peer meetings and other promotional activities
- Integrates themselves into local account team to input knowledge and environment intelligence into broader account plan

Minimum requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

- Desirably educated to Degree Level ideally in Business, Science or Marketing English
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable
- Related field sales experience
- Desirable: Cross-functional / matrix working
