MSAT Pilot Plant Team Lead

Our client is a leading Life Science supplier & manufacturer across a range of pharmaceutical products. They"e;re looking for a MSAT (Manufacturing Science and Technology) Pilot Plant Team Lead to manage the day-to-day scheduling, operations & maintenance of the pilot plant & line manage the pilot plant team.

Duties Responsibilities:
- Provide appropriate coaching and mentoring within the MSAT Pilot Plant Team, including defining & monitoring performance goals, including any required disciplinary actions. Member of the MSAT leadership team and deputizes for the Head of Department as required.
- Provides oversight of both internal and external customers' requirements in scheduling pilot plant operations according to business plans and site/network needs working closely with manufacturing, program management and commercial development.
- Provides technical knowledge/expertise to both internal and external customers in planning and execution of pilot plant batches to ensure successful outcomes
- Provides management and oversight of the pilot plant headcount and budgets and financial cost center control for external and internal customers including the expertise and use of SAP transactions and system functionality
- Ensuring ownership of pilot plant facilities within the team, including Quality, 6S, EHS training and being accountable for these aspects for the pilot team leading continuous improvement projects including Capex delivery
- Ensures effective communication within pilot team, MSAT support teams, Manufacturing, Process Development, Program Management, Engineering, Procurement, Financial and to external customers with regards all aspects of operations and problem resolution

- A minimum of MSc/BSc/BEng in biological sciences/Biochemical engineering or equivalent field
- 5+ years' experience in laboratory or pilot scale operations in biopharmaceutical development technology transfer of manufacturing environments
- Previous team and or project management experience
- Previous technical knowledge and expertise in mammalian cell Upstream and Downstream processing desirable
- Demonstrated people management skills essential, effective communicator and decision maker
- Excellent attention to detail, with ability to prioritize and be flexible in managing change, anticipating and resolving complex problems with customers and peers
