An international medical communications agency is seeking a Client Services Director to provide strategic and marketing insight as well as commercial leadership of accounts teams, from its offices in Cheshire, Glasgow or London.

An international medical communications agency is seeking a Client Services Director to provide strategic and marketing insight as well as commercial leadership of accounts teams, from its offices in Cheshire, Glasgow or London.

Our client continues to enjoy stable long term senior leadership and nurtures a positive, collaborative and supportive working environment.  Your role will be to lead and direct client relationships, ensuring business goals are met as well as contributing to new business activities with both new and current clients.

Team Leadership:

  • Provide motivational leadership to account teams
  • Working with senior colleagues, contribute to the development and implementation of the business plan
  • Contribute to succession planning for both account teams and functional groups
  • Through effective line management, ensure high-quality training, development and performance management of all line reports

Client Management:

  • Provide strategic vision and direction to allow the team to achieve their account objectives
  • Proactively network and build relationships with clients to expand and maximise new business opportunities
  • Conduct regular client meetings to review account team performance, including coordination of annual client health-check meetings, with senior colleagues as appropriate
  • Ensure clients receive proactive ideas and creative input to assist and challenge their own thinking and planning

New Business:

  • Work with senior colleagues to implement a robust business development plan
  • Proactively identify, secure, lead and direct new business opportunities

Financial:

  • Ensure best practice financial management across clients and accounts achieving accurate forecasting, phasing and delivery of account plans
  • Conduct monthly financial reviews and provide guidance and advice on any issues
  • Develop and sign-off account plans and deliver to agreed growth targets
  • Support Account Directors, Senior Account Managers, Account Managers and editorial colleagues to fully understand and implement business KPIs and provide effective coaching to the team as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Life Science Degree
  • Significant experience of delivering strategic medical communications gained in an agency environment
  • Experience of leading and developing a client service team
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent client relationships
  • Excellent communicator
