Job Summary:

Novartis is currently recruiting for a Head of Internal Communications for our Dublin NGSC (Novartis Global Services Centre)

The core purpose of this role is to develop, lead and execute impactful communications strategies for Novartis Business Services (NBS) in Ireland.

The bulk of the NBS operations in Ireland are based at the Novartis Global Service Centre (NGSC) in Dublin, 540 associates where this role is located..

Key Responsibilities:

• To develop and implement an integrated communications strategy for the Novartis Dublin Global Services Centre (NGSC) including:
• Leadership communications;
• Employee communications;
• Event management and activities to drive employee engagement;
• Reputation building of the Dublin site both internally and externally;
• Candidate attraction and retention;
• Community relations;
• External stakeholder communications.

• As the communications expert and advisor, to work collaboratively with leaders and functions across the NGSC; the NGSC Site Head, the NGSC Board; the country domain leads and with global colleagues, to build an engagement approach that ensures all our NBS associates in Ireland are inspired by our mission and aligned with our key strategic objectives.

• To support ongoing transformation programs through thoughtful communications and by leading a Change Advocate network for NBS in Ireland as part of a global NBS programme.

• To develop a local approach to ensure the effective promotion of NBS services through impactful awareness raising campaigns among users in Ireland, in support of, and aligned to, the global service communication strategy

• To build the reputation and value proposition of the NGSC with internal and external stakeholders through effective communications.


• To provide counsel and thought-leadership on communication approaches and delivery channels for specific projects as needed.

• To actively contribute as a member of the NGSC Board (Leadership Team) and the NBS Country Board.

• Develop content including messaging documents for key initiatives; the monthly newsletter; intranet articles and general organisational announcements as well overseeing the deployment of the internal communications channel strategy.

• Design and lead preparations for quarterly site town halls, and other key events.

• Support the development of the employee volunteering team on site and promote through effective communications.

• Working with HR and Staffing teams, execute an innovative talent acquisition campaign that attracts and retains top talent in needed areas of expertise, differentiating Novartis in the marketplace as an “employer of choice.”

• Develop strategies for issue preparedness and management; work with appropriate functions locally and globally to implement. Prepare designated spokespeople and act as a spokesperson (internally and externally) if required.

• As a member of the NBS global communications team, actively participate in the network and contribute to key projects.

The Novartis Global Service Center (NGSC), Dublin, was set up in 2013 and is located in a state-of-the-art facility on the Merrion Road in Ballsbridge. Minimum requirements

The ideal candidate will have:
• Significant experience in communications or relevant area with strong focus on internal communications and change.
• Track record of successfully managing communication for large restructuring and/ or change initiatives.
• Demonstrated understanding of the drivers of effective employee engagement and experience in running engagement programmes.
• Some external communications experience.
• Background in healthcare desirable.
• Experience of working in a global environment would be beneficial
