A busy, independent MedComms agency is looking for an Editorial Team Leader to join their growing team.
You will be utilising strong written communication skills to create, develop and review medical education copy for a variety of materials (with an emphasis technology-rich projects) whilst ensuring this adheres to client specifications, ABPI regulations and budgetary requirements. The position also requires excellent verbal communications skills to collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, line-manage a team of writers (at junior and senior level) and brief freelance/temporary writers when required.
The Editorial Team Leader will be expected to be hands on with the personal development and mentoring of line reports, including reviews and catch-up meetings, whilst also being happy to undertake writing duties when required.

This is a brilliant opportunity for the successful candidate to be part of the Operational team in a fast-growing coming agency. This position is ideal either for an established ETL or a Senior/Principal Medical Writer looking for the next step up!

Role / Description
Main Job Responsibilities:
* Line managing a large team of writers and editors across a variety of therapy areas.
* Briefing freelance and temporary writers (as required).
* Creating and developing scientific content for a range of communications materials (as required).

Candidate Requirements:
* PhD qualification (Life Sciences)
* Minimum 5 years Medical Writing experience in medical communications either agency-aide or in-house.
* Experience in line-management of writers.
* A good understanding of at least one of the following therapy areas: cardio-metabolic, infectious diseases, oncology, haematology and neurology.
* Advanced Word and PowerPoint skills.
* Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations with experience of working to ABPI.
* High level of organisation and time-management.
