Synexus is the largest site management organisation in the world dedicated to the recruitment and conducting of clinical trials. We operate in over 190 sites spread over 11 countries.

During this exciting time of growth and expansion for the business, we are looking for an experienced Group IT Director responsible for leading our global IT team, and driving the delivery of our IT strategy to support and enable global growth.

Preferred location for the role is UK, but not exclusively.

Role Responsibility

You will structure and lead an effective IT team which delivers operational excellence in network solutions and service delivery while ensuring Business As Usual (BAU) IT runs efficiently and effectively.

Industry best practices should be followed for all aspects of networking, security, infrastructure, systems administration, desktop services and service desk. Also critical in the role is how you maintain excellent working relationships with IT teams within the enterprise group, ensuring economies of scale and best practices across the group are shared and implemented.

At Synexus there is a clear strategy to enhance our Clinical Systems, with three phases of activity over the next 3-5 years.

Specific projects which you will have an important role in will include:

- Selection of an Electronic Medical Records system to hold Synexus’ patient source notes
- Identification of partners and technologies that will take clinical research from sites to patients homes

As a proven leader, you will have significant experience in senior strategic management, preferably at Executive level, driving substantial business change through technology and information for an organisation of similar size and complexity.

The role will provide leadership to our global IT team ensuring clarity and consistency in the development, maintenance and governance of IT principles, standards and models across the company’s systems, security and infrastructure architectures. Additionally, you will provide expertise and direction in all technology related issues to build an encompassing view of IT requirements, identifying the business benefits of alternative strategies where appropriate and to ensure that strategic application of technology is embedded in Synexus with a focus on safeguarding business system security and our systems infrastructure to minimise risk.

Through working collaboratively with the leadership team this role will develop and implement a technology road map for the business, suggesting and searching the market for technology innovation solutions and ideas to bring efficiencies and support Synexus’ business growth.

All software development projects will be flexible for new territories and service offerings as we grow through acquisition.
