CROMSOURCE is looking for an experienced Clinical Operations Associate Director to join our team and be the go-to line manager for the US operations. This will be primarily an oversight role working directly with the Senior Director of the Clinical Operations department. It is an exciting time to be a part of our growing team!

Purpose of the function:

The Clinical Research Operations Department Associate Director supports the Clinical Research Operations Department Director in the Line Management of the Clinical Research Operations staff (PMs; PCs; CRAs; CTAs). He/she is responsible for the allocation of proficient, effective and compliant resources to the Projects execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, monitors and manages the workload of the Project Management staff (Employees, In-sourced and Free-Lance Personnel )
  • Supports the clinical operations department in identifying competencies and skills required, selecting and recruiting staff, defining appraisal, skills and potential development, career path development
  • Ensures that clinical research operations staff works efficiently in matrix environment
  • Collates feedback from Clinical Monitoring and Clinical Trial Administrator Units in order to plan career progression and assess training requirements
  • Builds the team by proper communication and motivation as well as organize regular meetings with direct reports
  • Discuss and agrees with the CRODT-SD projects needs and allocates resources
  • Periodically assesses the performance of the direct reports based on feedback from Clinical Research Department Directors and other relevant roles
  • Informs the CRODT-SD in case of issues that can jeopardize the business relationship with the Sponsor
  • Takes part to the Project Board meetings
  • Supports the CRODT-SD in analyzing performance KPIs, identifying root causes of non/poor performance and implementing corrective actions
  • Works in cooperation with the local HR Business Partner for the evaluation, development and retention of the clinical research operations staff
  • Monitors and enforces compliance with CROMSOURCE systems, processes and policies and all applicable regulations
  • Provides input to process and SOPs review/design
  • Identifies and proposes process and system improvements to maintain quality and effective deliverables in CRDIV in accordance with the CRODT-SD
  • Coaches Direct Reports
  • Leads by example living and enforcing the CROMSOURCE values

Job requirements:

  • University Degree in scientific and/or medical disciplines
  • Eight (8) years (at least) of Clinical Research experience in the CRO/Pharmaceutical industry and after gaining excellent knowledge in developing work organization models
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial operations, GCP/ICH Guidelines and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Fluent in English and local language(s)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Willingness to travel
