Job Summary:

Chiltern (a Covance company) are looking to recruit 2 budget Analysts to Maintain Study related Budgets. The positions are within our Finance team in Slough, you would be employed on an initial 6-month contract (salary and benefits) with the potential for permanent employment after that.

We are ideally looking for candidates that can start quickly, ideally before the end of February.


  • Assist the Business Development department with respect to changing “status” of studies in Chiltern’s Budget Management System.
  • Assist FSP Departments in creating relevant timesheet lines for FSP studies.
  • Loading project budget information into the Cost Centre (budget management software) system at the study outset, and as changes in scope are agreed; and reconciling budgets on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintaining the Out of Scope (OOS) Tracker, on a daily basis.

  • Assist the Project Managers in moving time between projects, as and when needed.
  • Dealing with ad hoc Project Specific Issues.
  • Maintenance of Monthly project related financial information.
  • Assist Business Development department with financial information required for RFIs.

Experience required;

This position could suit a graduate with;

  • Good computer literacy with working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and Email applications.
  • Highly organized with good accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills.  Ability to assess issues from a range of perspectives, including different internal customer perspectives and external client perspectives, in order to provide compromised solutions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including negotiating, explanatory and presentation skills.  The ability to communicate effectively in English, demonstrating concise, clear logic.
