We are seeking an Associate Facilities Manager to join our team in Athlone, Ireland at our labs and offices.   In this role, you will coordinate assigned facilities operations which may include site services, building and equipment maintenance, space planning, engineering projects, and/or special projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates facility construction and/or re-modelling and oversees the placement and administration of all outside contracts for space planning, architectural, engineering, and construction services when assigned.
  • Assists in the coordination, scheduling, budgeting and completion of long-range facility planning, real estate acquisition, and disposal.
  • Assist managing contractors with PPM schedules.
  • Assistant Asset Management and forecasting
  • Generates purchase requisitions for furniture purchases and other capital expenditures.
  • Maintains monthly and yearly records of expenditures.
  • Prepares funding requests for facility projects and maintains project budgets, cost records, status, and schedules.
  • Directs space allocation, space standards and usage. Ensures operating groups are provided with required space.
  • Generates monthly forecasts of "Capital Needs" expenditures.
  • Prepares periodic manpower forecasts and space projections.
  • Recruits, trains and develops employees.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum education of Leaving Certificate
  • IOSH or equivalent would be an advantage
  • Previous experience in a Facilities role

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Computer skills: ability to use AutoCAD, Microsoft Office including MS Project, Database Management, Building Management Systems (BMS), and/or Security and Fire Systems may be required
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (mechanical, electrical, security, etc.)
  • General knowledge of construction process and code requirements
  • Basic knowledge of furniture design and space planning techniques
  • Time management and project management skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to cultivate a collaborative work environment with project teams. Able to effectively motivate and persuade others in order to settle differences and maintain positive relationships
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Good Administration skills
