This role is based in our new modern state of the art office in Nottingham city centre which has excellent transport links and has a great working environment and the feel of an innovative technology company.

PAREXEL’s Product Managers drive the company’s growth by constantly evaluating the market place and defining and designing the Go To Market products and services that drive our market traction, appeal and share. The Product Manager is responsible for all aspects of the product lifecycle and for its commercial structure and positioning in the market. Product Managers will also support the review of new business opportunities, determining to ensure that Business Development Presales are fully briefed on product road maps, features and availability.

Key Accountabilities

  • Market Problems: Discover market problems by interviewing customers, recent evaluators, and potential customers in new niches.
  • Win/Loss Analysis: Conduct win/loss interviews for recent opportunities.
  • Distinctive Competence: Articulate company’s unique abilities to deliver value in assigned markets.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Work with Client Operations and Sales to keep competitive intelligence up to date, including database of company/feature comparisons and focused information sheets for Sales on how to sell against competitors in your assigned markets.
  • Focus: Filter new product and feature opportunities and focus the product team on those with the greatest potential for PAREXEL, ensuring alignment with portfolio strategic themes.
  • Roadmap: Develop and communicate the product vision and work with the TRS and Infrastructure teams and other product managers, product owners to prepare 12-month roadmap and more detailed 3 month work plan, both with delivery date estimates.
  • Business Plan: Prepare and update a business plan for each product, including a market size assessment, financial model of revenue and profits (ROI), risks assessment, communication and education plan, advertising, social media, KPIs, post-launch strategy, voice of the customer, etc.
  • Buyer and User Personas: Prepare and maintain user and buyer personas for your product(s).
  • Requirements: Maintain a prioritized backlog of features for your product(s). Work with Business Analysts, Product Owners and User Experience staff to ensure requirements, prototypes, designs and developed products meet customers’ needs, including ensuring feedback is gathered throughout the development process. Establish feature acceptance criteria.
  • Pricing: Prepare and maintain pricing and licensing models and schedules.
  • Product Positioning: Prepare and maintain a Product Offering Document for each of your products. Plan and manage the product life cycle.
  • Launch: Ensure all departments are ready for a new product release, and all items are completed to launch releases externally. Build internal organizational readiness to guarantee smooth adoption by internal and external customers. Engage relevant stakeholders as appropriate: CRS Technology, L&D, PAREXEL Quality, Business Operations, Business Development, Marketing, Perceptive Partner Program, operational groups, Legal, Finance, etc.

  • This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites regionally and globally for attendance at industry conferences (up to 20%)
  • Education
  • MBA a plus

Language Skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English
Minimum Work Experience
  • 5+ years of software product management experience in IT Service
  • Experience with full product lifecycle management and commercialization
  • Experience evaluating new business opportunities and new entries into markets
  • Experience preparing business plans for new opportunities
  • Experience launching new products
