Job purpose:

The purpose of the Biostatistician is to provide a comprehensive statistical service to meet regulatory, professional and scientific requirements to support the UK business. Provide leadership to the business to ensure that biostatistical activities meet objectives of both internal and external customers.


Key Responsibilities:

•Ensure optimal biostatitical support and conduct of UK sponsored studies and use of data in the form of reports and publications to include: Statistical consultancy, Protocol advice, Case Report Form review, Statistical analysis and reporting
•Publication Assessment of current and potential vendors
•Oversight of vendors to ensure timely and accurate deliverables versus the contract and expectations.
•Engage with internal & external stakeholders to identify, evaluate, develop and implement biometric services/ activities aligned with those of the wider medical, global and BF teams Interact with Global biometrics organisations as required
•Define, lead and monitor adherence to required standards for biometrics outputs in accordance with ICH-GCP, Global standards and regulatory (FDA, EMEA) guidance
•Identify, support, develop and implement the best processes/practices to maximize service efficiencies and introduce new biometric services that support the growth of key Novartis brands and improve customer experience
• Promotes and ensures secure data transfer practices
•Ensures excellent relationships with Internal stakeholders, KOLs and investigators in relation to UK sponsored studies and associated publications

Minimum requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

•Qualified statistician (Minimum Degree qualified, Further qualification such as PhD/Msc and/or Chartered Statistician beneficial but not essential)
•In depth experience in the pharmaceutical industry (or CRO) in statistical/data management areas including proven experience as a statistician.
•Thorough knowledge of the drug development process is necessary.
•Proven vendor management experience essential.
•Ability to make decisions autonomously and with minimum supervision
