Requirements:

Our client, a heavily funded start-up biotech, is currently looking to hire a Senior Scientist, Analytical Product Characterization / Assay Development to join them in Central London, UK. This will be laboratory-based, strategic role focused on identififying potency assays designed to support the development of our clients portfolio ATMP cell-based therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Implementation of analytical and product characterisation strategy
* Work with external contract providers to deliver analytical packages
* Successfully develop and transfer analytical protocols as required
* Utilise a range of biopharmaceutical and cell-based analytical techniques including FACS-based / immune assay formats
* Support biology and process development scientists through the development of open-access and semi-automated analytical platforms
* Introduce and interface with LIMs systems as required to support analytical sample tracking/results
* Provide analytical support for formulation development, stability, and product compatibility studies
* Author development reports and regulatory documentation
* Lead analytical technology transfer into a QC / Manufacturing environment
* Design experiments and handle, trend, and present large data sets in an accurate and compelling way with aid of data visualisation platforms
* Generate rigorous scientific documentation and concise visual and oral presentations to communicate in cross-functional teams to peers, senior management, and other key stakeholders
* Contribute to the smooth running of the laboratory, helping to ensure effective lab management

Educations, Skills and Experience:

* Educated to Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant discipline
* Experience with developing, advancing and transferring cell therapy and/or biopharm analytical protocols into a regulated environment.
* Expert in assay development in accordance with ICH Q2 philosophies
* Expertise in the FACS-based or immune assay method development
* Expertise in T cell biology / Immunology an advantage
* Experience authoring sections of IND/IMPD quality dossiers and interacting with Regulatory Agencies an advantage
